Liesel is a budding performer, producer and musical director. In 2025, she served as the conductor and Qlab operator for The Addams Family: The Musical(2025) at The Homecoming Centre, produced by MotherCity Productions. She also served as the Stage Manager and Production Manager for a junior production of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat(2025) at the Drostdy Theatre in Stellenbosch. She currently serves as the operations manager for Musical Mondays, a monthly networking event for Industry professionals at The Outlore Base in Cape Town.Liesel has produced two original productions, Miscast(2023) and You Never Know: A Mostly Miscast Musical(2024), with her production company Saunders and Horn. As a composing duo, Saunders and Horn have had several original works showcased by the CCA’s Cabaret and Beyond Festival in 2022.Liesel starred as Veronica Sawyer in the South African premiere of Heathers: The Musical, receiving rave reviews and selling out all performances at the Artscape Arena. She has starred in Miscast(2023), a Broadway World South Africa’s Best Ensemble nominee and has also portrayed the principal role of Mrs Peacock in an original Cluedo-esque production, The Boddy at Tudor(2023). Liesel has several Assistant Musical Director credits under her belt for Abrahamse and Meyer’s production of Oklahoma!(2023), Paul Griffiths’ productions of Pippin(2022) and Heathers: The Musical(2024) and Saunders and Horn's productions of Miscast(2023) and You Never Know(2024).Liesel graduated from The Waterfront Theatre School in 2024. She has an ATCL Diploma in Performing Arts and an LTCL Teaching Diploma in Speech and Drama, both from Trinity College London. In 2019, she trained at West End Musical Theatre in London for four months, learning from West End professionals like Amy Lennox and Shiv Rabheru.
