Kerry Black is a Cape Town-based actor and a 2025 graduate of Act Cape Town, where she completed the Higher Certificate, Advanced Certificate, and Professional Programme in Acting for Film and Television. She was honoured to receive the Most Inspiring Student Award at her graduation and achieved distinction in her pCertLAM qualification through the London Academy of Music & Dramatic Art.
Kerry’s screen credits include Before The Cuckoo calls, directed by Nicola Hanekom, as well as a range of festival short films such as Trouble down below, The Budget List, Departure and Distractions. On stage Kerry played the lead in Nicola Hanekom's The Lullaby Lies and Bobbi Devanzo in Detective, an ensemble physical theatre production directed by Sive Gubangxa. She will next take to the stage in Trying, a comedic two-hander currently in rehearsal.
With training across Meisner, Method, physical theatre, stunts and improvisation, Kerry continues to develop a versatile toolkit that informs her work across screen and stage. Beyond acting, she is a singer, pianist, plays the ukulele and enjoys working across writing, photography, casting, and directing.
Kerry is drawn to telling stories that spark conversation and create connection, serving as a reminder that we are all in this together. She brings her curiosity, passion, and dedication to every project she is a part of, seeking to create work that resonates through empathy, truth, and humour.
