Rosco Charles is a Cape Town-based actor and performer with experience across television, film, theatre and commercial productions. His acting career began through performance and musical theatre, and he has developed experience both in front of the camera and on stage. His screen credits include Brett, a lead role in Signal High / Hectic 9 – Signal High on SABC 2, Caveman in National Geographic: Origins, a featured extra in Free Willy directed by Will Geiger, a television role as a waiter, and appearances on Expresso TV alongside various artists. His theatre experience includes playing Seaweed in Hairspray at Elkanah House. Rosco also completed approximately six months of training at Waterfront Theatre School, where he received training in performance and musical theatre. During this time, he performed in Dance Me a Song as part of a boyband and was also involved in corporate singing performances at the CTICC. His commercial experience includes working as a lead performer and drummer for KFC, appearing as a drummer in a Bose Headphones campaign, working on BP advertising and stills campaigns, including being the face of BP Garage for a period, and appearing in an OMO commercial. Alongside his acting career, Rosco is an established professional musician and performer. Since 2018, he has been the professional drummer for South African artist Jack Parow, performing at major festivals, live events and international tours. This has given him extensive experience performing in front of large audiences, working with established artists and remaining comfortable and adaptable in high-pressure production environments. His additional performance skills include drumming, percussion, body percussion, marimba, singing, dancing and live stage performance, giving him a broad range of abilities that can be valuable across different acting and commercial roles. Rosco is naturally energetic, expressive and personable, with a strong presence both on camera and on stage. He enjoys working with people and creative teams and is comfortable taking direction, performing in front of a camera and adapting to different characters and environments. He speaks English and Afrikaans.
