Biography
Jurgen Romario McEwan is a multilingual South African actor, singer-rapper and physical theatre performer fluent in Afrikaans, English, Xhosa and Zulu (basic German). Known for dynamic stage and screen work — notable credits include Map Jacobs (Krismis van Map Jacobs), Tommy Sobotker, Stompie (Spinners), Stil Piet in Kelders van Geheime, presenter for WOW Television Spelling Fest and appearances in Arendsvlei — he combines strong vocal and performance skills with creative writing and dubbing experience. Since June 2022 he has taught voice and performance theory at Henties Educational Theatre in Cape Town and has delivered outreach and youth theatre programs across schools and festivals. A quick adapter and collaborative team player, Jurgen’s work has been recognised with a Woordtrofee (2019), a KANNA award (2017) and ATKV acting gold (2013).
