Petra Baker

Petra's journey began as a curious, vivacious, sensitive and creative child, which naturally led her to the world of acting.
She earned a Master's in Performing Arts from Vienna, studying at the prestigious Konservatorium under the guidance of the acclaimed Elfriede Ott.
Her promising talent earned her a scholarship, setting her on a path to success.
Her career took off at the Theatre of Baden Baden, where she spent three years refining her ability to bring both comedy and drama to the stage.
During this time, Petra was invited by the French-German broadcaster ARTE to lend her voice to several projects, while also participating in a film funded by the German state of Baden-Württemberg.
In 1997, Petra's life took an exciting turn when she moved to South Africa with her husband and their baby son.
After adapting to a new culture, she made her mark in commercials and toured Namibia and South Africa with Forbidden Fruit, a musical show featuring songs from the 1920s to 1945.
For ten years, Petra ran Faces4Film, an artist agency that showcased emerging talent.
She also produced a stand-up comedy night that turned challenging circumstances into moments of healing through laughter.
Petra continues to perform regularly at Milnerton Playhouse, a space that has become a second home.
Her achievements include multiple CATA awards in various categories, and she's been nominated many times for her outstanding work.
Petra has also lent her talents as a German voice coach on film sets, worked as a child minder, and even chaperoned German colleagues filming in South Africa.
After years of focusing on family, Petra is now rediscovering her passion for the stage and film, returning to her craft for the pure joy and love of performing.
